We believe in God, our
all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present creator who desires to save us from our sinful
future of destruction.
We believe that God showed His love to us by sending
His only Son into the world to be the sacrifice for our sin. We believe that Jesus was
born of a virgin; ministered on this earth as God's perfect Son; died on the cross to pay
the penalty for sin once and for all, and rose again on the third day to live eternally in
glory. We believe that Jesus is literally coming again in majesty and glory to take those
who know Him to heaven, and to judge those who reject Him to eternal punishment.
We believe that only by accepting Jesus' death on the cross,
and repenting from our sin, can we become part of God's plan of salvation.
We believe that the Bible is God's holy, perfect word,
and it is our standard for faith and practice in doctrine, and our daily lives.
We believe in "believer's baptism" by
immersion because; (1) it is commanded by God's Word; (2) it is the believer's public
identification with the death and resurrection of Christ; (3) it is a public "sermon
of encouragement" to those involved, and those who are observing. We believe that the
church is the body of believers under the authority of Christ, our head. We believe it is
the responsibility of the church body to care for its members, and the responsibility of
the members to care for, and support the growth and purpose of the church. |
