Salt Creek Baptist Church
Central-Pacific Association of the North American Baptists
The North American Baptist General Council which has its headquarters in Oak Brook
Terrace, Illinois.
Our Goals are:
- To be sensitive to the needs of women who are attending our church and to our unsaved
friends in the community; then to reach out with love and concern to meet those needs.
- To develop Christian living, Christian service and Christian fellowship among the women
of Salt Creek Baptist Church.
- To help each woman develop the spiritual gifts God has given to her and provide
opportunities for these gifts to be used.
- To cultivate a missionary spirit and promote knowledge of world missionary needs,
especially in the work of our North American Baptist Mission Fields.

The Salt Shaker
BUREAUCRACY
Ahhh ... bureaucracy ... not one of those words that smells like a
pleasant perfume, or lowers a person's blood pressure or makes life
easier. Women's Ministries is attempting to streamline its own little
bureaucracy, and I've just spent part of my life putting it to print for
-you all out there in readerland.
You don't need me to tell you how frustrating and inefficient
bureaucracy can be. We put at least 50% of our wages into bureaucracies
that use those 'contributions' toward useful things like giving nuclear
technology to Communist China or bulldozing the Salt Creek Store. Ahhh ...
bureaucracy ...
The Pharisees and Sadducees were into their own version of a
suffocating bureaucracy. Jesus didn't lend too much credence to that
stuff. Hallelujah! Relief is on the way ... eventually. So, in the
meantime, I will continue to pay my taxes, shake my head at the headlines
and sit back and smile when I stop and think of all the bureaucratic red
tape that the Lord will hack right out of the way FOREVER! Now THAT'S a
thought that smells like a sweet perfume, lowers blood pressure and makes
life easier!

Help Others Meet Emergencies
Meals Offered to new Moms
When a member of the church body is physically unable to function (due to
surgery- or any emergency, or has a new baby) we want to share our love and support by
bringing meals into the home. Many have responded favorably to helping in this
ministry. You will be contacted by the chairpersons if these ministries when help is
needed.
"In response to all He(God) has done for us, let us outdo each
other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good." Hebrews
10:24
Prayer Tree
The prayer tree is composed of women from Salt Creek Church who commit
themselves to pray at any time, day or evening, for the physical or spiritual needs of
someone in our church body or their family. If you are not already on the prayer
tree and would like to be involved, contact Doris Phillips.
If you have a prayer request, call Doris Phillips.
If you cannot reach her call Thelma McKibben or the Pastor.
Blessing Boxes
Share Your Blessing...in Jesus' Name
The Women's Ministries Fellowship is encouraging us to be more aware of
the blessings that come to us each day. We need to be alert to recognize them; then
be thankful to our Heavenly Father; then to respond in love and gratitude by putting a
"thank you" in our little Blessing Box as a means of passing on a
blessing. The blessing God has given you has prompted you to give, to praise, and to
pray. The gifts received from the Blessing boxes go toward an annual WMF project.
The NAB goal this year is to raise $15,000, which will be used to help provide
funds for food, home repair and aiding children who have been traumatized by war in Kosovo
and Yugoslavia.
