This week's message from Pastor David was all about baptism, particularly its role in unifying Christians. We dove into Ephesians 4 and other scriptures to explore how baptism reflects our unity in Christ. Pastor David emphasized that the first and most important baptism is not by water, but by the Holy Spirit, when we first put our faith in Jesus. Water baptism, then, is a public testimony of that spiritual truth. Paul famously describes this in 1 Corinthians 12:13 as being baptized by one Spirit into one body. It doesn't matter where or who performs our baptism; it's our faith and declaration in Jesus that count. We learned that baptism has been a foundational practice since the early church, and it unites us all in the Body of Christ.
